Biography for Teresa Evans-Turner

Teresa Evans-Turner is a Research Assistant at the Donald Beasley Institute and has been a member of the team since August 2007. Teresa was born in Wellington but has lived the majority of her life both here in Dunedin and Waikouaiti.

Educated and Head Girl at East Otago High School, Teresa went on to complete a Bachelor of Tourism, Minor in Geography, Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Masters in Tourism at Otago University.

Having recently graduated from Otago University, Teresa has gained an interest in research and research methodologies and hopes to gain experience and further her career in this arena.

Teresa is currently working full time on the "Working in intellectual disability services" project, which is looking at the working conditions, turnover rates, vacancy rates and, characteristics of residential support staff currently employed in intellectual disability services in New Zealand. While working at the Institute, Teresa has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Health.

Teresa has gained a significant amount of experience and is thoroughly enjoying her role here at the Institute.
